About the Project

HOJNY Succulents needed a way to quickly move surplus inventory and scale up wholesale sales. As a family business focused on rare succulents, they wanted to connect with nurseries and plant shops across Europe—but lacked the expertise and time to build a targeted lead generation system themselves.

The Challenge

HOJNY was sitting on a surplus of inventory and needed to quickly scale up wholesale sales to free up space and boost revenue. Selling to individual retail customers was too slow and operationally inefficient. They needed a way to find and reach qualified wholesale buyers — but had no internal capacity or know-how to execute a targeted outreach campaign.

Our Solution

We built a lean, automated outbound system that scraped, enriched, and contacted ideal wholesale prospects with minimal manual effort.

  • Data Collection: We used Apify to scrape Google Maps for succulent nurseries and plant shops across targeted regions.
  • Email Verification: Every email was verified via the Millionverifier API to protect deliverability.
  • Personalization at Scale: Using OpenAI’s API, we auto-generated custom icebreakers for each lead based on their online presence, making every message feel handcrafted.
  • Cold Email Delivery: A 3-touch sequence (intro, reminder, last call) was deployed via Instantly, our go-to cold outreach platform.

Execution Highlights

  • Only 1,031 people were contacted
  • Icebreakers were generated dynamically to reference each nursery's unique characteristics
  • Campaign deliverability was carefully managed with verified, warmed-up email domains
  • Response handling and lead tracking were streamlined into HOJNY’s internal system

  • 123 positive replies from qualified leads — a positive reply rate of nearly 12%
